The incumbent is responsible for appropriate documentation in compliance /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"with standards and provides excellent patient services/span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"Compensation Range: 18.00-34.00 (DOE)/span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /p
Responsibilities:
p style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"strongROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information. /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Takes an ocular and systemic history and accurately records visual acuity. /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Performs testing required by type of exam scheduled, patient complaint and history, including but not limited to /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Performs lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam including applanation tonometry and anterior /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"chamber angle assessment, basic muscle balance testing, assesses pupils, confrontation visual fields and gross /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"external exam. /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Performs advanced ophthalmic procedures./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Acts as scribe while the physician examines patients, entering data into electronic medical records or handwritten/spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"in paper charts. /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Assists ensuring office procedures are adhered to and required informed consent is obtained./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Assists with patient education./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Oversees patient flow throughout the day./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all State and Federal regulations. Understands /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"and accepts responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to supervisor or Compliance Officer./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Maintains a positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism./span/p
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline /spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"preferred./spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"OA1 Experience: 0-2 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience/spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"OAII Experience: 2+ years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience/span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"strongKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/strong/spanbr /span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 10pt;"• Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and work performed.
