Nutrition Aide

strongThis Nutrition Aide position is fullnbsp;time, 8 hours a day, 12 months per year.nbsp;Rate of pay is $14.52 hourly. Eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance and retirement plan (retirement plan eligibility is after 13 months of employment))./strongstrongnbsp;Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English./strongbr / br / KEY FUNCTION:br / Under the general direction of the PHS Center Based Coordinator, direct supervision may be assigned according to program needs. The Nutrition Aide is responsible to prepare meals, shop for food, complete the CACFP paperwork and clean and maintain the kitchen.br / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:br / - Attend all required staff trainings.br / - Assist in food preparation.br / - Pick up lunch and deliver to classrooms, as needed.br / - Shop for the food that is required for meals and snack.br / - Order paper and janitorial supplies, as needed.br / - Complete production forms, blue slips, cleaning schedules and lunch count forms.br / - Other duties as assigned.br / br / All employment with Bear River Head Start is contingent upon Policy Council approval, and successfulnbsp;results of a background check. All applicants must also pass anbsp;drugnbsp;test prior to hire, including working with children and families. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.nbsp;br / br / QUALIFICATIONS:br / - Basic knowledge of child development.br / - Experience working with children required.br / - Basic knowledge of behavior management.br / - Must be detail oriented.br / - Must have excellent paperwork and computer skills.br / - Dependable.br / - Flexible - adaptable to frequent change.br / - Able to communicate with staff and parents.br / - Able to get a Food Handlerrsquo;s permit and become certified in First Aid and CPR.br / - Must be available for full time work with flexible hours as needed.br / - Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.br / - Must pass a background check.br / - Must have reliable transportation.br / - Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.br / - Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.br / - Ability to obtain a valid Food Safety Managerrsquo;s Certificate.br / - Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs.br / - Must be able to sit, kneel, and get up from the floor and small chairs frequently.br / - Other duties as assigned.
