The Medical Assistant’s primary responsibilities include rooming patients, completing medication refills, managing follow-ups from endoscopy procedures, inputting labs, and abstracting charts. The ideal candidate is thoughtful and compassionate about the care they deliver, adaptable to the day-to-day changes in healthcare, and works collaboratively in a team setting. p/pp style="font-size:16px" bRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/bbr / /pp style="font-size:16px"/polli Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). /lili License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
