Must be able to oversee multiple roles and be adaptable to new ideas and changes./ppbr//ppstrongPosition Overview: /strongThe Direct Support Professional (DSP) will work as part of a team to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Springfield area. At Rise amp; Shine, DSPs support clients with living meaningful and rewarding lives. This includes assisting with daily living activities, administering medication and advocacy./ppbr//ppstrongFLSA Status/strong: Non-exempt, hourly/ppstrongReports to: /strongProgram Manager/ppstrongEssential Job Functions/strong/pulliSupport clients with daily living activities, such as personal care and health management, communication, achieving personal and educational goals, meal planning and preparation, shopping, housekeeping, basic home maintenance and safety, home management, financial management, community involvement, developing meaningful connections, and decision making./liliTransporting individuals in company vehicles or on public transit./liliAdvocate for the rights of the people we support./liliAssist with creating Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs)./liliAdminister medication to clients requiring such support./liliDocumentation in Therap and record keeping as required./liliReport suspected neglect or abuse per the OAR requirements./liliAdhere to Individual Support Plans and Behavioral Support Plans that have been formulated to support clients’ safety and wellbeing, particularly as it applies to violent behaviors./liliAttend all team meetings and training as required./liliTrain and welcome new staff into the homes./li/ulpbr//ppRequirements/ppstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulli1-2 years of experience as a DSP or CNA (preferred, not required)/liliExperience using Therap (preferred, not required)/li/ulpstrongMinimum Requirements:/strong/pulliMust have High School Diploma or G.E.D./liliMust be at least 18 years of age./liliMust pass Oregon criminal background screening./liliMust be able to remain awake and alert while on shift./liliMust be able to lift up to 35 lbs., bend and/or squat./liliMust be able to walk up and down stairs./liliMust be able to perform job with or without a reasonable accommodation./liliMust be flexible to work at different locations depending on where there is need for additional support during their weekly schedule./li/ulpThe above statements describe the general nature of work being performed.
