With a customer-service focus, the Division leads Idaho’s efforts to prepare youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers./span/ppspan style="font-weight:800"Summary/Overview: /spanThe Director of Federal and Workforce Programs, reporting to the Assistant Administrator of Programs, provides leadership to the Division’s team overseeing all federal grant programs, adult education programs, and Fire Service Training (FST). /ppThe ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative leader with deep experience in federal education and workforce programs and a strong commitment to preparing Idaho’s youth and adults for high‑skill, in‑demand careers. This individual brings a balance of policy knowledge, operational leadership, fiscal responsibility, and relationship building to advance statewide career technical education, adult education, fire training, and workforce initiatives. /ppThe successful candidate demonstrates a thorough understanding of federal grant programs (including Perkins V and WIOA), along with experience translating complex statutory and regulatory requirements into effective, compliant, and high‑impact programs across diverse local contexts, including rural and tribal communities. /pp/ppspan style="font-weight:800"Key Responsibilities:/span/pp/pulliLead federal grant, adult education, and FST program teams while serving on the Program Services leadership team/liliServe as the liaison to Idaho Indian Education Committee and develop strategic tribal partnerships and relations around career technical education/liliEnsure Perkins-funded activities support Idaho’s workforce priorities, high-skill and in-demand occupations, and the state’s CTE delivery system as defined in Idaho Code § 33-2202/liliRepresent IDCTE in implementation of Idaho’s WIOA Combined State Plan, ensuring CTE and adult education programs are fully integrated into the state’s workforce system/liliLead the FST team to meet the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) accreditation standards and help ensure all career and volunteer firefighters have access to quality training and evaluation/liliEnsure compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and applicable federal and state audit requirements for all federal and state grants administered by IDCTE/liliOversee monitoring and risk assessment guidelines for federal grant programs, working closely with appropriate Program Directors.
