h3spanJOB SUMMARY/span/h3 pspanUnder the supervision of the Aquatics Director or Designee, the Head Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and well being of participants using the Old Colony Y Aquatic facility./span/p pspan /span/p pstrongspanJOB FUNCTIONS:/span/strong/p ol lispanProgram Responsibilities/span/li /ol ul lispanArrive on deck, in uniform, ready to open pool safely, promptly and at the scheduled time./span/li lispanSchedule all lifeguards to ensure safety of pool facility. /span/li lispanWhen acting as a lifeguard/covering breaks, act as a role model guard and embody your expectations of the greater lifeguard team. /span/li lispanPlan amp; Perform ongoing in-services, VAT drops and drills to ensure daily rescue readiness of lifeguard staff./span/li lispanEnsure all in-services and drills are logged and uploaded to teams/span/li lispanEnsure all depth markings, life jackets, and pool signage is in place and clearly reflects Old Colony YMCA’s swim test policy./span/li lispanConsistently monitor lifeguards for rescue readiness amp; professionalism, including consistent scanning patterns, 5-minute strategy, well executed guard rotations, and proper guard placement to ensure clear view of each zone of coverage./span/li lispanCheck to ensure all safety equipment is in place, functional and branch emergency action plan is able to be carried out successfully. Report and problems in writing to Aquatics Driector/span/li lispanReport all accidents and incidents to supervisor on appropriate forms./span/li lispanAttend all staff meetings scheduled by supervisor and provide updates on what you’ve been noticing/guard and facility feedback, etc/span/li lispanAdhere to opening amp; closing protocols following OCY approved checklists./span/li lispanEnsure management of pool set-up based on scheduled activities. /span/li lispanAssist in moving lap lanes, swim testing, placement of depth markers/buoys, and proper fitting of PFDs./span/li /ul pstrongspanEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/Physical Requirements (Minimum required)/span/strong/p ul lispanMinimum 18 years old/span/li lispan1-3 years related experience/span/li lispanCurrent Lifeguard certification in either Red Cross, YMCA or Ellis and current certification in CPR, First Aid, AED and O2/span/li lispanMust cross-over to Ellis Lifeguard Certification within 30 days and YMCA cross-over within 3 months./span/li lispanEllis or American Red Cross Lifeguard Trainer preferred/span/li lispanMust be able to perform all physical tasks of a Lifeguard as well as lift an adult male from the pool onto the pool deck./span/li lispanComplete program specific and employee orientation training by required timeline./span/li /ul h5span /span/h5
