Work typically consists of program implementation for systems and procedures; providing professional expertise to existing programs; assisting in project design; providing staff development services; and performing other related consultative services.brbrp style="margin: 0"strongSupervision Exercised or Received:/strong/pUnder general direction, provides City departments with services related to programs and projects on a part-time basis; performs other duties as required.brbr/ph2Position Duties/h2pp style="margin: 0;"strongEssential Duties:/strong/ppPlans, organizes, administers, and/or coordinates the implementation of City programs and projects./ppDevelops and/or implements programs and plans in accordance with department goals and objectives, policies, and procedures; evaluates program effectiveness and develops improvements as needed; directs in establishing priorities./ppCompletes assignments performs duties in area of expertise as directed by City staff./ppPrepares a variety of progress and special reports related to programs and assigned projects./ppMay attend offsite meetings and events./ppPerforms related duties as assigned./p/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pp style="margin: 0;"strongKnowledge of:/strong/pullip style="margin-top: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-bottom: 0;"Developing program and project administration, monitoring, and evaluation techniques./p/liliPrinciples, practices, and techniques of program and project administration, including monitoring and evaluation./liliBusiness and program specific computer use applications./liliPrinciples and practices of program and project management and evaluation./liliApplicable codes, regulations, and standards relating to City contract administration./li/ulstrongAbility to:/strongulliWork within established goals and timelines./liliApply professional skills and knowledge to organizations./liliDetermine specific organizational needs regarding program and project design, implementation, administration, and management./liliOrganize work, set priorities, establish goals and objectives, and exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines./liliEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in/lilithe course of the work./liliPrepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials./liliEffectively and tactfully work with elected and appointed officials and the public./liliInterpret and apply complex rules, regulations, laws and ordinances./liliPerform independent research in the preparation of programs and project proposals./liliEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships./liliMake persuasive oral presentations of ideas and recommendations./li/ulstrongEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/strongbrbrPossession of a high school diploma/GED or higher determined on responsibilities assigned.brRequired experience will be determined on the basis of duties and responsibilities assigned.brbrstrongLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS/strongbrbrValid class C California Driver's License.brSpecified positions may require pre-employment screening.brstrongWORKING CONDITIONS/strongbrThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this class.
