Maintaining product standards with special diet products./li liComplete items on production schedule as needed in assigned workstations./li liPrepare deli items following prescribed specifications. Prep and store product used in recipes./li liPrepare high quality hot and cold espresso drinks, smoothies, vegetable and fruit juices and tea for customers./li liInform other cooks and deli staff about ingredients used./li liFollow the correct use of established portion control rules./li liPackage products correctly./li liCheck-in (bakery) orders from vendors to ensure order is accurate./li liEnsure freshness of deli items by rotating and by keeping batches separate by date./li liExpedite getting out-of-stock items out on the floor. /li liRotate older stock to front, making space for new stock./li liStock and restock all areas of the department on every shift to maintain abundant appearance./li liPull out of date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of them./li /ul ul liRecord department shrink promptly and accurately following departmental procedures./li liMonitor food temperatures as required and take corrective action when needed to ensure food safety./li /ul ul liQuickly prepare made to order sandwiches (panini and cold) and wok bowls to specifications of deli management./li liAssemble and bake pizzas and other items in firedeck oven to specifications of deli management./li liPrep and store food following proper procedures./li /ul ul liEnsure proper signage and labels are on products or are posted./li liEfficiently stock hot and cold self-serve food bars ensuring continuously fresh, appealing displays throughout established hours of operation./li liAbility to operate a cash register and balance a cash drawer./li /ul pCleaning and Department Maintenance:/p ul liMaintain work area in sanitary orderly conditions, following guidelines set by deli management and rules of the MCCHD./li liFollow safe working practices./li liDish and pot washing as needed./li liClean up spills, take out trash as needed./li liRemove trash promptly, sweep and mop floor./li /ul ul liCarry out established opening and closing procedures./li liUse equipment safely./li liAdvise manager of equipment repair and replacement needs./li liParticipate in periodic inventory counts./li /ul pOther Responsibilities:/p ul liAttend department and storewide meetings as needed./li liAnswer and route phone calls, take and route messages as needed./li liPerform other tasks assigned by Shift Lead or Manager./li /ul pstrong|/strongstrongQualification/strong strongStandards /strongstrongn/strong/p table width="679" tbody tr td pstrongEducation/ Training:/strong/p /td td pHigh School education or GED preferred, but not required./p /td /tr tr td pstrongExperience:/strong/p /td td pFood service experience preferred.  Experience working in a deli, restaurant, or catering business preferred.
