p style="text-align:left"bWhen you join the growing BILH team, you#39;re not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives./b/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/p40 hpw; 10-hr shifts (6:50a-5:20p); Mon-Sat w/ On Callp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"bJob Description:/b/pdivbEssential Duties and Responsibilities/b/divdivdivdivdivdivdivdivdivdivullipAssess physical, mental, and psychological status of patient using age-appropriate knowledge within surgical specialty and patients served./p/lilipPlans, evaluates and supervises care of all patients assigned and within surgical specialty assigned./p/lilipWorks collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients to provide excellent service to patients served./p/lilipCoordinates and participates in formal and informal educational programs, inservices and performance improvement activities to improve technical skills within and outside of surgical specialty assigned./p/lilipResponsible for continued learning and application to practice within and outside of surgical specialty assigned ./p/lilipSynthesizes patient care information to formulate appropriate nursing diagnosis./p/lilipResponsible to provide patient and family education to population served./p/lilipWork practice reflects philosophy purpose and policies of the hospital and department based upon evidence based best practices and AORN standards./p/lilipAssumes call coverage within 30 minutes travel time from hospital./p/lilipOperates and plans Perioperative patient care, equipment instrumentation, information systems, preference cards, etc. within the assigned surgical specialty./p/lilipCollaborates with surgeons, staff, OR resource coordinator, anesthesia and outside vendors to ensure a safe surgical intervention after intervention/cost effective value analysis process utilized./p/lilipCoordinates care in conjunction with PAT, Day Surgery, and PACU to ensure safe and proactive patient planning by addressing needs./p/lilipReviews and updates preference cards within specialty and physicians served./p/lilipMaintains listings of materials, equipment and updates staff on any repair, follow-ups; checks supply inventory for expiration dates at least twice per year./p/lilipReviews procedures booked in advance and follows up with sales reps and OR Resource Coordinator as needed to discuss equipment, instrumentation, and/or implants needed for new/routine procedures./p/lilipCoordinates with Staff Ed to mentor new Operating Room RNs within specialty./p/lilipAssists and performs inventory with surgical specialty-general, eye, podiatry, neuro, ortho, ob/gyn, gu, plastic, cardiovascular/thoracic, and any others as needed./p/li/ulpibIt is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required/b./i/pp/ppbExperience/Knowledge/Skills Required/b/pullipEvidence of continuing education; at least 20 CEU’s per year-BSN or Bachelors classes may be substituted.  If bachelors attained, have 20 CEU’s per evaluation year./p/lilipDemonstrated proficiency in basic nursing process./p/lilip3-5 years experience with demonstrated skill to circulate and scrub in one or more surgical specialties./p/lilipCNOR Certification within 2 years of appointment and maintained/p/lilipThe RN will exhibit demonstrated skill in the clinical services which results in optimal safe patient care management within care planned and provided./p/lilipProactive, interpersonal written and verbal communication skills-evidenced based and best practice./p/lilipAbility to prioritize responsibilities in order to remove barriers, solve problems and plan service delivery./p/li/ulpbEducation Required/b/pullipGraduate of accredited school of nursing./p/li/ulp/ppbRegistration/Certification/b/pullipCurrent RN Massachusetts License/p/lilipBLS Certification maintained/p/lilipACLS strongly suggested and preferred. /p/lilipIf specialty service has a significant pediatric population, such as ENT, and Ortho, PALS certification strongly suggested and preferred./p/lilipSpecialty Certification (preferred)/p/li/ul/div/div/div/div/div/div/div/div/divp /pp /pp/ppbPay Range: /b/p$36.41 - $74.59p/ppspan style="color:#000000"span style="font-size:12pt"This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
