As a Construction Intern, this person will be an integral part of our project teams, taking on complex tasks and responsibilities, and contributing to the success of a range of projects and initiatives, ranging in size, scope, and value./p pstrongLearning Opportunities/strong/p pProject Management:/p ul liAssist with project controls, change orders, RFI�s, and other construction administration duties./li liPrepare look ahead schedules with information from subcontractors./li liAssist in generation of various reports such as submittal and RFI logs, and with document control./li liProcess Submittals and RFIs./li liUpdate working drawings with RFIs and Changes. Keep this set up to date to ensure the team is working with the most current information./li liPerform simple calculations./li liProvide technical support for construction effort/li /ul pProject Scheduling:/p ul liAssist in creating and updating construction schedules, incorporating changes, delays, and unforeseen circumstances/li liMonitor project progress and identify areas where adjustments may be needed/li liAssist in analyzing project data to identify ways to optimize scheduling efficiency/li liSupport the scheduling team in providing accurate and timely reports to management and stakeholders/li /ul pEstimating:/p ul liSupport cost estimates on proposals, projects, and studies to help ensure that the content of the estimate is complete, accurate, and meets the requirements of the Estimating Team./li liReview solicitation documents such as specifications and drawings to learn how to identify risks and opportunities related to competitive pricing./li liAssist the Estimating Team with an independent assessment of an estimate�s accuracy (upon completion of the estimate and summarization of all detailed man-hours, material, construction, and home office costs)./li liHelp coordinate the performance of pricing structure development and application to takeoffs, derived quantities, quantity assumption, and cost allowances./li liObtain and verify construction quotations for facilitation of construction projects, addenda, and contract changes./li liCompile and analyze bids./li liHelp develop reports for all review processes./li liActively research and solicit supply chain vendors for information./li /ul pstrongBasic Qualifications/strong/p ul liIn progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marketing, or related degree./li liExperienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing and communications skills./li liExcellent written and oral communication skills./li liStrong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders./li liExperience with/aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes./li /ul pstrongPreferred Qualifications/strong/p ul liPrior internship experience in the AEC industry./li /ul pstrongCompensation/strong/p ul liThe anticipated salary for this position is between $23 - 26/hr/li /ul pstrongemMWH Constructors/em/strongem is a global project delivery company in heavy civil construction with a focus on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
