pThe strongJunior/strong strongRanger /strongassists with the operation and maintenance of the park and facilities.    /ppstrongPay Rate:  $14.00 per hour /strongbr /br /stronguMajor Duties/Specific Tasks/u/strong  /pulliProvides information to the public and/or special interest groups pertaining to the park and park facilities./liliInforms visitors of park rules and regulations./liliPatrols park in NOVA Parks vehicles or on foot to ensure safety and security of park visitors and NOVA Parks grounds, buildings, and equipment./liliReports accidents, vandalism, and theft./liliRegisters vehicles/visitors and collects appropriate fees./liliMay assist with routine maintenance/repair of equipment./liliAssists with public relations by handling visitor inquiries and providing information and assistance./liliAssists with cash handling/liliEnsures cleanliness of comfort station facilities and other areas of the park./liliMaintains grounds by removing trash and mowing/trimming grass as needed./liliPerforms attendant duties at all locations as needed including gate house operations./liliAttends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled./liliReports unsafe conditions to the Park Management./liliCarries out additional duties as assigned by Park Management./li/ulpstrongspan style="text-decoration: underline;"Minimum Qualifications/span/strong  /pulliTo operate vehicles you must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid drivers’ license with a safe driving record./liliPossession or ability to obtain Certification in CPR/First Aid./liliAbility to communicate effectively and courteously with the public./liliAbility to learn the operations of the facilities./liliFlexibility and ability to perform all duties of other part-time employees as needed./liliAbility to gain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks, its history, organization, rules and regulations./liliAvailability to work additional hours during peak operating season./liliAbility to operate point of sale systems and handle money accurately./liliWorking knowledge of computers./lilispan style="font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Open Sans' , sans-serif;"Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift up to 80 lbs, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions./span/liliAbility to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of weather conditions./liliAvailability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays./liliAbility to understand, follow, and give oral instructions./liliRequired to purchase and wear standard uniform./li/ul
