Current License as Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) in the state working required./li listrongExperience:/strong A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required./li liMust have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact./li liMust have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation./li /ul pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"strongSkills and Knowledge:/strong/span/p ul liKnowledge of principles, practices standards and techniques of a C.N.A./li liKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment./li liKnowledge of medical equipment how to use and maintain./li liSkilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, co- workers, medical staff, and the public./li liSkilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution./li liAbility to work independently with minimum supervision./li liAbility to communicate clearly and effectively./li liAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations./li liAbility to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation./li /ul pstrongESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:/strong/p ul liConsults as needed with the RN Case Manager, ADON, and/or the Director of Clinical Services./li liUnder the direction and supervision of the RN Case Manager, ADON, and/or the Director of Clinical Services assists clients in the home with the following duties:br / ul liPersonal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care and bathing/showering./li liAssists clients in and out of bed, assisting with ambulation./li liAssisting with prescribed exercise which clients and aide have been taught by appropriate personnel./li liAssist clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans, or urinals./li liOther duties taught by a health profession for a specific participant such as taking of vitals, changing colostomy bags, changing of non-sterile dressing and non-sterile bowel and bladder hygiene care./li /ul /li liCompletes appropriate documentation of services utilizing the Electronic Medical Records system./li liFollows all HHWCO policies and procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines./li liMaintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about clients, clients or families./li liHandles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices Universal Precautions./li liMaintains safe working environment. Follows HHWCO Safety policies and procedures./li liActs within the scope of his or her authority to practice./li liParticipates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings.
