Grounds Maintenance Assistant - Full-time / Part-time

h2About the Department/h2ppThis position is responsible for assisting Park Maintenance Workers in the day-to-day care of our parks. This includes sweeping/mopping, restocking supplies, wiping down all surfaces including all sinks, urinals, and toilets./liliAssist in the lay out, painting, and maintenance of all athletic fields.nbsp;/liliAssist in removing graffiti and addressing vandalism in the parks.nbsp;/liliAssist in transport of landscape materials throughout the city.nbsp;/liliAssist in maintaining accurate records of work completed.nbsp;/liliAssist in the collection of refuse in the park system.nbsp;/liliAssist in the maintenance of playgrounds.nbsp;/liliAssist with removal of encampments in accordance with Outreach and Removal Policies set forth by the City of Burlington.nbsp;/liliBe a park advocate, which includes providing excellent customer feedback, notifying the park supervisors if undesirable activity, damage, excessive littering, etc. exists within a park.nbsp;/liliHigh level of customer service In a public atmosphere.nbsp;/liliAble to work efficiently on an independent basis.nbsp;/liliAssist in special events.nbsp;/liliSupport volunteer services in the parks.nbsp;/liliAttend mandatory trainings and meetings.nbsp;/liliPosition may require the operation of City vehicles and/or personal vehicles in order to conduct City business.nbsp;/liliAssist in other job tasks as necessary.nbsp;/li/ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"liAbility to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies./liliDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development./liliAbility to have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Operation of City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver’s license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver’s license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways.
