bPurpose:/bbrPerforms imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.brbrbResponsibilities:/bbrulliMonitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in nuclear medicine by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures./liliInteracts with patients and co-workers by displaying the values of caring, listening, dignity and respect./liliDemonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team./liliPerforms all responsibilities of Level I Nuclear Medicine tech including maintains proper records of radiopharmaceuticals and calculates, measures and records patient dose. Performs all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment. Properly identifies all patients and provides instructions for exams. Competently performs all nuclear medicine exams and codes and tracks exams in RIS./liliAssist with educating staff and student technologists to provide technical guidance and education./liliPerforms or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives./liliParticipates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups./liliWorks directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development./li/ulbr pGraduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program required./p p2 Years nuclear medicine experience required./p pMust have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.brbrbLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:/bbrARRT(N) or CNMT registrySecondary registry requiredCPR or BLS RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hirebrbr/p ul liARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)/li liBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/li /ul pbrbUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran/b/p
