Noise and activity levels will be varied.nbsp;/ppbr//ppstrongJob Summary/strongnbsp;/ppThe cashier position will provide an excellent aquatic experience for customers at one of the three Manhattan waterparks by handling day-to-day transactions and answering customer questions.nbsp;/ppbr//ppstrongJob Duties/strongnbsp;/pulliProvide excellent customer service and possess a service philosophy that reflects the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department.nbsp;nbsp;/liliGreet any customer who enters the facility, assist them by providing information and resolving complaints, and take payment by cash, check, credit card, or by membership pass.nbsp;/liliIssue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers as necessary or directed by the Manager.nbsp;/liliComplete all opening and closing duties and maintain a clean and orderly checkout area throughout the day.nbsp;/liliCount the money in cash drawers at the beginning of every shift to ensure that starting amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.nbsp;/liliComplete a daily reconciliation of the cash register at the end of every night, filling out the proper paperwork and preparing the deposit as required by the City of Manhattan.nbsp;/liliAble to establish and maintain cooperative professional working relationships with others, individually and in a team environment.nbsp;/liliOther duties as assigned.nbsp;/li/ulpRequirements/ppstrongRequired/strong strongEducation and Experience/strongnbsp;/pulliExperience handling cash and performing basic math, including addition, subtraction, and multiplicationnbsp;/liliAbility to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidaysnbsp;/liliExperience working efficiently in a fast-paced environmentnbsp;/li/ulpstrongPreferred/strong strongEducation and Experience/strongnbsp;/pulliPrior experience with point-of-sales transactions, handling money, and customer service.nbsp;/li/ulpstrongOther Information/strong nbsp;/pulliThis is not a KPERS covered position.nbsp;/liliApplicants must pass a background check.nbsp;/liliStaff will be required to attend in-service training.nbsp;/liliWaterparks are open from Memorial Day weekend until no later than Labor Day.
