identifies code violations; recommends corrective measures for compliance with code; etc.); reviews residential construction plans in order to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances, approves or denies such plans; issues permits when plans are approved./liliProvides information to the general public and contractors on building codes and interpretations of such codes, general construction problems./liliOther building code related issues: receives and responds to complaints or inquiries from citizens, attorneys, government officials, and others regarding zoning ordinance issues and conducts inspections in order to ensure compliance with City zoning ordinances./liliPrepares and maintains records, reports, and other documentation related to the operation of the department./liliRemains current on changes in applicable codes and construction practices and makes recommendations to the Chief Building and Zoning Official regarding changes to City policies or procedures which may be necessary to preserve the safety of the built environment./liliMaintains contact with City personnel/departments, homeowners, contractors, builders, the general public, and various government agencies/officials in order to obtain or disseminate information related to the essential position functions./liliMaintains required licensures and certification, if any./liliMeets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions./liliDemonstrates regular and predictable attendance./liliPerforms other related duties as assigned./liliObey and promptly execute all orders of the Administrative Assistant./li/ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2p divThe employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.);
