Summer Youth Job Coach (Non-Driver)

This position provides vocational rehabilitation services as well as job coaching services to Harbor funding and referral sources on a temporary basis./p pspan style="text-decoration: underline;"emPosition is part-time, during the summer only./em/span/p pstrongEducation/Experience/Other Requirements/strong:/p ul liMinimum of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Bachelor’s degree with teaching/training or related experience preferred./li liMust be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.   /li liCPR/First Aid Certification preferred./li /ul pstrongEssential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:/strong/p pemDOCUMENTATION/em/p ol liResponsible for the quality and completeness of the electronic record./li liResponsible for accurate and timely documentation which includes, but is not limited to: Daily and Weekly Progress Notes, Monthly Participant Evaluations, Detailed Job-Task Analysis, Incident Report forms and any other forms necessary to document coaching services./li liTypes documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor./li /ol pemEVALUATION/em/p ol liAnalyzes jobs and work environments at worksites and breaks down jobs into trainable steps./li liMaintains communication with funding/referral source weekly to provide update on youth’s progress./li liAssesses client readiness for employment and formulates appropriate interventions to assist the client in making progress towards setting and achieving their employment goals./li liAssists the client in identifying and communicating his/her interests, skills, and aptitudes to assist in exploring possible vocational choices./li liWhen working with minors, ensures minor labor laws are being adhered to regarding break requirements, work schedule, work activities, equipment/tool use, and that all safety procedures are being followed./li liMay assist the client in gaining information on the effects of employment on entitlements / financial assistance that the client may be receiving (i.e., SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare, Section 8, Food Stamps) to assist the client in making an informed choice./li /ol pemONGOING INTERVENTIONS/em/p ol liProvides individual and/or group job coaching at work site./li liMay assist the client in developing employment opportunities as well as the skills to obtain and maintain employment/li liMay make home visits/outreach to engage clients in vocational services/li liConsults with supervisor regarding appropriate referrals for client to vocational services and community programs./li liProvides support, education (i.e., benefits counseling, advantages of employment) and consultation to clients, families, and/or significant others./li liAssists client in learning job skills as needed, individually or in groups./li liPerforms community outreach for the purpose of client engagement, and necessary support services./li /ol pemCOLLABORATION/em/p ol liAssists the client and family in increasing social support skills and networks./li liCoordinates evaluations and assessments by internal and/or external providers./li liMonitors all services identified in the CRP, IEP, BESI and DSI./li liProvides assistance in gaining access to essential community resources and linking with appropriate vocational resources (OOD, ODJFS, BWC, etc.)./li liAttends all required meetings and trainings/li /ol pemSPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS/emspan style="text-decoration: underline;" /span/p p26.Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth./p pstrongAbout Harbor:/strong/p ul liA leading provider of mental health and substance use treatment forspan /spanstrongover 100 years/strong/li listrong350+ clinical staffspan /span/strongserve overspan /spanstrong24,000 clientsspan /span/strongacross multiple locations and in the community each year/li liServices ranging from counseling, pharmacological management, primary care, psychological testing, case management, substance use treatment, residential services, vocational program, andspan /spanmore!/li /ul pstrongWhy Work for Harbor?/strong/p pIt is fast-paced and challenging, but you will have a lot of fun in the process.
