They must maintain proper control of cash, ensure customer satisfaction, and safeguard company assets. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department and the company.nbsp;As a team member of Pete’s Fresh Market it is important that Pete’s Four Pillars of Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service are always exemplified./ppstrongEssential Job Responsibilities/strong/pulliMust have a complete knowledge of all produce codes, bakery codes and an extensive understanding of weekly sale items, company coupon policy, and other store policies required during check-out./liliIssues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers./liliReceives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits./liliOperates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter in PLU or UPC manually, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen./liliMaintains clean and orderly checkout areas and make sure no personnel items are in the area./liliEnsures all service standards are frequently met and often exceed company expectations./liliAssist with actual store operation activities such as stocking shelves, assisting with customers, and cleaning, depending upon business needs./liliAssist baggers in bagging groceries; depending on store needs./liliMust possess the knowledge and skills to understand how to effectively use the POS system; including but not limited to transactions involving WIC coupons, manufacturer coupons, EBT, cash, check, and debit card purchases.nbsp;/liliResponsible for an accurate account of all tendered cash, credit, check, EBT, coupon, gift certificate, etc. that are processed through their register./liliMust accurately balance their assigned cash drawer at the end of their shift./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongEducation/Certifications/strong/pulliHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. with 0-3 years of experience in grocery store or similar retail environment./liliMust have a valid and up to date Food Handler’s Certificate./liliMust have above average cash handling and basic math/calculating skills./li/ulpstrongOther Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities /strong/pulliMust be capable of providing and modeling exceptional customer service./liliMust have excellent communication skills in order to communicate effectively with customers, store leadership, and fellow-team members./liliMust be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in groups./li/ulpstrongWork Environment/ Physical Demands/strong/pulliMust have the physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb, balance, stoop to grasp objects, kneel, crouch, crawl, frequently push/pull up to 100 lbs., frequently lift and/or move loads up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 75 lbs./liliOccasional high stress when dealing with systems/customers/staff./liliAble to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the store/business needs and as required to ensure adequate store staffing./liliMust have reliable source of transportation./li/ulpThe above declarations are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job described, nor are they intended to be such a listing of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
