We’re not just hiring for a position—we’re inviting you to become part of a community that cares.strong/strong/p p /p pstrongAbout the Role/strong/p pAs an strongEquipment Mechanic/strong, you will ensure completion of scheduled preventative maintenance, perform safety inspections, diagnose, and repair small engine equipment, including two/four cycle gasoline, diesel-powered, battery-powered, and alternative-powered equipment. You will also perform skilled labor in the maintenance and repair of parks, turf areas, landscapes, open spaces, ball fields, rights-of-way, and trails to keep these areas safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing./p pThis position participates in snow and ice control activities, operates heavy construction equipment, and may direct a crew of seasonal or temporary workers./p p /p pstrongEssential Duties and Responsibilities/strong/p ul liInspect, troubleshoot, and repair small engine and battery-powered equipment./li liPerform preventative maintenance and major/minor repairs, including engine rebuilds and welding./li liConduct field service calls and coordinate equipment transport for repairs./li liMaintain parts inventory and assist with equipment replacement planning and budgeting./li liOperate heavy construction equipment and participate in snow removal operations./li liAssist with turf and landscape maintenance, including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and spraying herbicides./li liMaintain accurate maintenance records and communicate with internal teams and vendors./li /ul p /p pstrongWhat we are looking for/strong/p pstrongSkills Knowledge:/strong/p ul liPrinciples and practices of small engine repair and maintenance./li liKnowledge of parks maintenance tools and turf management techniques./li liAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment./li liStrong communication and organizational skills./li liAbility to operate construction equipment and modern office software./li /ul p /p pstrongEducation Experience:/strong/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent./li liTwo years of small engine and/or equipment repair experience.strong/strong/li /ul p /p pstrongPreferred:/strong/p ul liSpecialized training in equipment maintenance and repair./li liCertifications in Honda, Kohler/Rehlko, Kubota, and Toro engines./li liExperience with alternative power equipment and landscape maintenance./li liAbility to obtain a Class “B” CDL within 180 days of employment./li /ul h3/h3 pstrongWorking Conditions/strong/p pWork is performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, grease, fumes, and gases.
