This role supports daily meal service as well as special events, assists with food preparation and cost control, and collaborates with team members to uphold Cedarhurst’s dining standards. The Dining Server also communicates effectively with residents and families, responds to individual dining needs, and contributes to a safe and positive environment that reflects the company’s commitment to quality service and resident wellbeing./ppstrongEssential Functions:/strongnbsp;/pulliAssist with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions, ensuring smooth execution and resident satisfaction./liliPromptly take food and beverage orders and deliver service to residents and guests in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner./liliMaintain a clean and sanitary work area by washing pots, pans, and utensils used in meal preparation, following all food safety standards./liliClear, sanitize, and reset tables; dispose of trash and clean containers; and complete daily checklists to ensure kitchen and dining areas are consistently maintained./liliAssist with cleaning dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs after meals and events, and ensure sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are completed at the end of each shift./liliMaintain knowledge of assigned responsibilities and adapt service to meet individual resident dining preferences and needs./liliSupport cost-control efforts by minimizing waste and using supplies responsibly./liliAccurately follow recipes and ingredient labels to ensure proper preparation and consistency of food and beverages./liliSafely operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment and utensils in accordance with safety guidelines./liliDemonstrate knowledge of dining menus and effectively communicate menu details to residents and guests./liliPrepare and maintain table settings to meet Cedarhurst’s established dining standards and create a welcoming atmosphere./liliMaintain current knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, state, county, local) and ensure full adherence to all food handling and sanitation guidelines./liliFollow Cedarhurst infection control guidelines and uphold safety standards to protect residents, guests, and staff./liliApply basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions) to accurately perform dining-related tasks./liliCommunicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to support positive relationships and ensure residents’ physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing./liliCollaborate with team members, follow management direction, and demonstrate initiative in resolving conflicts and promoting a respectful, supportive dining environment./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongQualifications:/strongnbsp;/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required./liliUp to two years of prior experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired./liliRelevant state or county licensure preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed./liliCPR or BLS certification preferred./liliDemonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable./li/ulpstrongWorking Conditions:/strongnbsp;/pulliThis position may need to walk or stand for extended periods and move throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas of the community./liliWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as climb or balance.nbsp;/liliWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information.nbsp;nbsp;/liliThis position may need to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.nbsp;/liliIndividuals in this position are required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors./liliThis role involves actively participating in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale.
