This includes cleaning kennels, floors, counters, and exam rooms. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in organizing the hospital by storing incoming orders and restocking supplies in cabinets, drawers, and the refrigerator./p p /p pstrongKey Responsibilities /strong/p pMain Accountabilities:/p ul liPerform cleaning tasks, including kennels, floors, counters, and exam rooms/li liComplete all assigned hospital duties before the end of the shift/li liOrganize the hospital, restock supplies in an orderly manner, and notify the team when supplies are running low or need to be reordered/li liContribute to the day-to-day flow and efficiency of the hospital/li liAssist with patient restraint when needed/li liFollow hospital protocols to maintain a sterile, clean, organized environment/li /ul pCustomer Service Delivery:/p ul liConsistently provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service/li liDemonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills when interacting with the veterinary team and clients/li /ul pOther:/p ul liAdhere to OSHA standards and regulations as outlined in company policies/li liAbility to perform other job duties as assigned/li /ul p /p pstrongRequired Skills and Knowledge /strong/p pAbility to:/p ul liTakes own initiative/li liAdvocate for the success of the hospital/li liWork independently and exercise good judgment/li liMulti-task effectively/li liRemain action-oriented and effectively set priorities/li liLearn new computer software systems (EMR, Scheduling, etc.)/li liProvide a high level of accountability/li /ul pExperience/Knowledge in:/p ul liHandling and restraining dogs, cats, and exotic animals/li liProviding basic animal care, such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring for signs of distress or illness/li /ul pDemonstrates:/p ul liHigh level of accountability/li liStrong organizational and efficiency skills/li liWilling to adapt and learn new things/li /ul p /p pstrongEducation and Experience/strong/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent/li liPrevious veterinary hospital experience is a plus!/li /ul p /p pstrongWork Location, Environment, and Physical Requirements /strong/p ul liThe Kennel Assistant position is performed onsite at our hospital or at an approved offsite event location. Remote work is not available for this position/li liHospital environment includes limited space, smells from pet waste, and noise (barking, etc.)/li liSchedules may include 10+ hour shifts, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays/li liGood hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read information/li liSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus/li liAbility to lift 25+ pounds/li liAble to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb/li liMay routinely be exposed to pets that may bite or scratch, biological hazards, anesthesia medications (smells), radiation if near an Xray machine, prescription medications, including controlled substances/li /ul p /p pstrongAdditional Information/strong/p pOur hospital is part of the WellHaven Pet Health (�WellHaven�) network of hospitals.
