This nurse ensures safe drug administration, monitors for adverse reactions, educates patients and families, and collaborates closely with the oncology care team. Provides patient care in alignment with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and American Nurses Association (ANA) standards./pp/ppThe Specialty Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered nursing care in a specialized outpatient clinic setting. This role involves assessment, triage, coordination of care, patient education, and direct clinical support to providers. The RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care aligned with the specialty#39;s protocols. Specialty Clinics include but are not limited to Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Gynecology, and Pulmonology. Provides patient care in alignment with American Nurses Association (ANA), and appropriate governing body as it relates to specific clinic standards./pp/pp/ppbKey Responsibilities:/b /pullipAdminister chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, hydration, and other IV medications per physician orders and oncology protocols. /p/li/ulullipMonitor patients closely during and after infusions for signs of allergic reactions, extravasation, and other adverse effects. /p/li/ulullipAssess patient condition and vital signs before, during, and after treatments. /p/li/ulullipStart and manage peripheral IVs and central line devices (e.g., PICC, Port-a-Cath). /p/li/ulullipPerform venipuncture and draw labs as ordered. /p/li/ulullipAccurately document all care in the electronic medical record (EMR), including medication administration, assessments, and patient education. /p/li/ulullipEducate patients and caregivers about chemotherapy side effects, self-care, medication schedules, and when to seek emergency care. /p/li/ulullipFollow all safety protocols for handling and disposing of hazardous drugs (USP 800 compliance). /p/li/ulullipCollaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other staff to coordinate and optimize patient care. /p/li/ulullipParticipate in ongoing quality improvement, infection control, and regulatory compliance efforts. /p/li/ulullipMaintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked infusion suite. /p/lilipParticipation in peer review activities and other quality/safety initiatives/p/lilipMaintains required education set forth by the institution and department per policy/p/lilipAdhere to all policies and protocols set forth by the institution/p/lilipPerform comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and vital signs./p/lilipAssist with specialized procedures and treatments (e.g., infusions, wound care, injections, diagnostic prep)./p/lilipAdminister medications and treatments as prescribed by providers./p/lilipMonitor patient responses and communicate changes in condition to the provider./p/lilipTriage patients via phone or in person, determining appropriate care paths./p/lilipCoordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments./p/lilipEnsure timely documentation of all nursing care and patient interactions in the EMR./p/lilipEducate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, medication management, and self-care./p/lilipProvide pre- and post-procedure instructions specific to the clinic specialty./p/lilipCollaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support efficient clinic operations./p/lilipParticipate in interdisciplinary case conferences and care planning meetings when applicable./p/lilipFollow all infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines./p/lilipMaintain nursing licensure and specialty certifications as required./p/lilipAssist with quality improvement initiatives within the clinic./p/lilipParticipation in peer review activities and other quality/safety initiatives/p/lilipMaintains required education set forth by the institution, CBA, and department per policy/p/lilipAdhere to all policies and protocols set forth by the institution/p/lilipOther duties as assigned/p/li/ulp/ppbQualifications:/b /pullipbRequired:/b /p/li/ulullipCurrent RN license in New York State /p/li/ulullipAssociate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN);
