Fire Captain - Full-time

pbAmentum/b is seeking a bFire Captain /bto join our team in bHawthorne, Nevada/b to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The bFire Captain/b will work with the Assistant Fire Chief execute policies, follow guidance to achieve goals and objectives for the department and specifically for the assigned platoon. The bFire Captain/b will serve as the Entry Team Officer at all emergency incidents that may occur because of natural forces, major accidents, fire or explosions, oil and hazardous material spills, and/or accidents occurring in confined spaces./pp/ppbMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance./b/pp/ppbDuties and Responsibilities/b:/pullipWork with the Assistant Chief to plan and develop policies and establish goals for the Platoon. Primarily responsible for the supervision of one Fire Station and its assigned apparatus. /p/lilipResponds to all emergencies on the Depot with assigned engine company. When first to arrive, shall assume command until relieved by a senior Fire Officer. Act as the Fire Department Entry Team Officer at all emergencies./p/lilipWork requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment./p/lilipCustomarily directs the work of two (2) or more employees.  Has the authority to recommend hiring, firing, promotion, and change of status of employees./p/lilipEnsure compliance with Company and governmental guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsibilities of this position. /p/lilipInstructor for all phases of emergency response, such as firefighting, hazmat response, confined space rescue, etc.; Fire Prevention procedures to be used during company building inspections./p/lilipEnsure that all firefighting, hazmat, and rescue equipment is tested, repaired, inspected, and maintained. Ensure the inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of all hydrants, fire alarm boxes, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, as assigned. Inspects depot facilities, in coordination with the fire Inspector./p/lilipAssume duties of Assistant Fire Chief when assigned, including Fire Department operations, records management, and reports preparation./p/lilipResponsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service./p/lilipDuties of this classification may overlap duties performed by employees of other classification./p/lilipMay perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level than those listed above. /p/li/ulp/ppbMinimum Requirements:/b/pullip3–5 years experience in the fire protection/prevention – full time, part time, volunteer or technical training./p/lilipMust have a High School Diploma or Equivalent./p/lilipHave and maintain State of Nevada Firefighter I and II certification./p/lilipPossess and maintain a valid State of Nevada Emergency Medical Technician I certification./p/lilipAble to obtain and maintain OSHA Materials Levels I, II, III and V certification./p/lilipBe computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment./p/lilipMaintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement./p/lilipBe physically fit to withstand extreme heat, cold, and smoke./p/lilipPerform arduous climbing, lifting, raising, running, and crawling./p/lilipAble to use simple formulas to compute engine pressures for providing adequate flow of water at the nozzle./p/lilipHave a good working knowledge of the care, operation, and maintenance of all fire equipment./p/lilipMust be able to operate auxiliary equipment such as Hurst Rescue./p/lilipbMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada Driver#39;s License and /bbhave or obtain an #34;F#34; endorsement within 90 days of employment./b/p/lilipbMust be able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.
