They work to keep pets safe andbrcomfortable during their visit./p pbrstrongWHAT YOU’LL DO (Essential Functions):/strong/p pbr• Foster a culture built on our values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service,brand Funbr• Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment, and surgery between eachbrappointmentbr• Obtain initial patient information, medical histories, vaccination records, and the reason for thebrpet’s visit. Document patient information, and update recordsbr• Calm, soothe, comfort, and restrain pets before, during, and after proceduresbr• Take note on examination results and updates records as directed by veterinariansbr• Provide the owners education, resources and information on how best to care for pets in general, atbrthe Veterinarian’s direction, for specific conditions, and after various proceduresbr• Monitor and track pet’s physical status and vital signs following surgerybr• Monitor, record, and report the physical condition and vital signs of the hospitalized and boardedbrpetsbr• Clean and disinfect cages, pens, runs, and boarding areasbr• Feed, water, bathe, and exercise pets during their visitbr• Respond to general questions from clientsbr• Perform and set up procedures that do not require Veterinarian or Veterinary Technicianbrassistancebr• Examine pets, performing basic health checks, looking for signs of disease, illness, or injury, andbrtreat them under the direction of the Veterinarianbr• May administer medication, perform routine laboratory tests, fill prescriptions, and educate clientbron use and side effects of medication under the direction of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technicianbr• Provide professional, efficient, quality care and exceptional service to clients while maintainingbrmaximum productivitybr• Support a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork and ensures thebrdelivery of quality, compassionate, effective, and efficient health care to petsbr• Comply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, and minimum standards of carebr• Perform other duties as requested/p pstrongWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Essential Qualifications):/strong/p pbrstrongEducation/strong:br• High School Diploma or GED required/p pstrongProfessional Licenses/Certifications:/strongbr• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferredbrExperience:br• One+ year of experience in a pet care setting requiredbrSkills, Ability and Knowledge:br• Broad knowledge of animal sciencebr• Basic knowledge of pharmacologybr• Proficiency with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word andbrindustry internet sitesbr• Basic written, verbal, and active listening communication skills with a customer-orientedbrapproachbr• Basic mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid dosesbr• Basic analytical, critical thinking, judgement, and problem-solving skillsbr• Compassion and empathy for both pets and pet ownersbr• Interact with a variety of clients and employees in a professional, caring, compassionate, andbrtactful mannerbr• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracybr• Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple prioritiesbr• Handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information with discretionbr• Maintain a calm demeanor in a work environment that fluctuates from orderly to fast pacedbrand stressful/p pstrongWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:/strong/p pbrWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
