St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital./spanbrbrspanstrongJob Summary:/strong/spanbrspan• Performs nuclear medicine therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing/spanbrspanquality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation./spanbrbrbrspanstrongResponsibilities:/strong/spanbrspan• Maintains and operates cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a/spanbrspanpatient's body to create diagnostic images./spanbrspan• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately./spanbrspan• Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals/spanbrspanaccording to established protocols./spanbrspan• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines./spanbrspan• Appropriately responds to any emergencies related to radioactive materials/spanbrspan• Maintain and follow accreditation protocols and procedures, work with/spanbrspanmanagement to maintain accreditation/spanbrspan• Maintain JCAHO standards as determined/spanbrspan• Assure appropriateness of procedure by reviewing the radiology order placed/spanbrspanprior to performing exam.
