We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Building Inspector I to perform on-site inspections, verify code compliance, and ensure safe and high-quality construction practices. You will work closely with contractors, engineers, and project managers, conducting field inspections, documenting findings, and providing guidance to ensure compliance with industry and legal standards. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-focused professional looking to build a long-term career in construction inspection and regulatory compliance./p Responsibilities: ulliStrictly adhere to all safety protocols and job site regulations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, UES, and client-specific safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)./liliPerform Structural Building Inspection duties (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) as licensed./liliDocument and report inspection findings with detailed observations, diagrams, photos, and compliance recommendations, ensuring accuracy and clarity for internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies./liliIdentify and communicate code violations and non-compliance issues, providing clear guidance and corrective action recommendations to contractors, engineers, and project managers./liliPerform follow-up inspections as required, verifying that corrective actions have been implemented and final compliance is achieved./liliReview and interpret construction plans, blueprints, permits, and engineering reports to verify compliance with approved designs, geotechnical findings, and regulatory requirements./liliMaintain clear and timely communication with field supervisors and dispatching teams, providing real-time updates on job status, locations, and any site-specific concerns./liliAssist in reviewing permit applications and project documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy before inspections./liliStay up to date with evolving building codes, safety regulations, construction material standards, and industry best practices, participating in ongoing training and certification programs as needed./liliTravel to project sites as required, often across varying terrains and environmental conditions, to conduct inspections and provide technical assessments./liliOperate and maintain a company-assigned motor vehicle, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as needed to ensure reliability for fieldwork./liliBe available to work flexible shifts, including varying schedules, weekends, and evenings, as required to meet project demands and client needs./liliPerform other duties as assigned to support project goals and company initiatives./li/ul Qualifications: ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required; active Building Inspector License is required./liliValid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel to job sites as needed./liliCertifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or plans examination (such as ICC or equivalent) are preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe./liliBasic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development./liliBasic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools./liliAbility to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, construction plans, specifications, procedures, technical manuals, and reports./liliEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and communicate professionally with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, and clients./liliEffective time management, mathematical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and efficient inspections./liliAbility to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a strong work ethic and focus on delivering high-quality, professional inspections./liliAbility to work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme weather and active construction environments, and physically navigate construction sites safely./liliFlexibility to travel within the designated region as needed to support inspections, compliance efforts, and business operations is a must./li/ul Travel Requirements: p style="margin: 0px;"● This position requires extensive domestic overnight travel 50% to 70% of the time, sometimes at short br /notice, to support business objectives and client engagements.
