pDescription/ppThe Yard Supervisor is a critical role responsible for the efficient and safe management of our material yard and facilities, including inventory control, overall yard organization, and the operation of heavy equipment. This position ensures the smooth flow of materials and resources, supporting our field team's needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive experience operating excavators and loaders./ppstrongKey Responsibilities/strong/ppYard Organization and Management:/pulliMaintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment./liliDevelop and implement efficient storage and retrieval systems for materials and equipment./liliOptimize yard layout for efficient material flow and equipment movement./liliEnsure proper signage and labeling of materials and storage areas./li/ulpInventory Control:/pulliManage and maintain accurate inventory of all materials./liliConduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies./liliImplement and utilize inventory management systems./liliForecast material needs and coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment./liliMinimize material waste and loss./li/ulpMaterial Pit Management:/pulliManage and maintain the company's material pit and palletized storage area./liliEnsure proper processing of materials./liliMonitor material quality and consistency./liliMaintain accurate records of material processed./li/ulpEquipment Operation and Maintenance:/pulliOperate excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently./liliPerform routine maintenance and inspections on yard equipment./liliReport equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs./liliEnsure proper storage and security of equipment./li/ulpTeam Leadership and Supervision:/pulliSupervise and direct yard staff, providing guidance and training./liliSchedule and assign tasks to yard personnel./liliEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policies./liliFoster a positive and productive work environment./li/ulpSafety and Compliance:/pulliEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies./liliConduct regular safety inspections and audits./liliImplement and enforce safety procedures for yard operations./liliMaintain a safe work environment for all personnel./li/ulpLogistics and Coordination:/pulliCoordinate material deliveries and pickups./liliAssist with loading and unloading materials./liliCommunicate effectively with landscape crews and other departments./li/ulpMaterial Handling and Organization:/pulliAssist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper storage and organization./liliMove and organize materials within the yard using forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment./liliMaintain a clean and organized yard environment, including sweeping, cleaning, and general upkeep./liliAssist in labeling and organizing material storage areas./li/ulpInventory Support:/pulliAssist in conducting inventory checks and reconciling discrepancies./liliHelp maintain accurate inventory records./liliAssist in receiving and verifying material deliveries./li/ulpEquipment Maintenance and Support:/pulliAssist in performing routine maintenance and inspections of equipment used by the yard and facilities team./liliClean and maintain equipment, ensuring it is in good working order./liliReport equipment malfunctions in the company software./li/ulpMaterial Pit Support:/pulliAssist in the material pit with basic tasks./liliHelp to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pit area./li/ulpGeneral Yard Duties:/pulliAssist with general yard tasks as assigned by the Yard Manager./liliEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policies./liliAssist in maintaining a safe work environment./liliAssist in loading trucks for jobs./liliHelp contractors pick up materials./li/ulpSeasonal Snow Removal/pulliAssist with snow removal duties (shoveling, plowing, salt/sand application) during the winter months as necessary./li/ulpbr//ppRequirements/ppSkills and Qualifications/pulliStrong work ethic and a positive attitude./liliAbility to follow instructions and work independently./liliBasic mechanical aptitude is a plus./liliAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions./liliAbility to operate forklifts, loaders, and excavators./liliPrevious experience in a yard or warehouse environment./liliValid driver's license and reliable transportation, with a clean driving record./liliStrong commitment to safety./liliFluency in English is required, including excellent writing, speaking, and comprehension skills./li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliAbility to lift 50 lbs or more, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks./liliComfortable working outdoors in various conditions, including heat, cold, and rain./liliAvailability Requirements/liliMonday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM and weekends as needed/li/ulpOur Values/ppAs a team member, you play a vital role in upholding our company values.
