Grocery Meat Cutter (Part Time)

To ensure consistent and world-class customer experiences through the superior show of quality and friendly customer service./p pstrongEssential Functions:/strong/p olliAssist Meat manager and Assistant Meat Manager to ensure proper pricing, weighing, packaging, and displaying of merchandise through audits and proper weighing procedures in the Meat department./liliPerform product stocking, preparation, and guest service as necessary to achieve department standards./liliOperating machinery, selecting appropriate cutting tools, adjusting machine settings for optimal performance, and ensuring maintenance of the cutting equipment./liliCut, debone, grind, weigh, and wrap meat products, including preparing orders to customers specifications./liliAssist maintaining desired level of inventory and supplies to maximize sales, minimize excessive inventory, and note of any discrepancies in inventory./liliMaintain knowledge of products sold within the Meat department and be able to respond to questions, make recommendations about products, and inform customers of sales./liliInspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action if needed./liliProvides world-class customer service throughout the store; use the tag line “Thank you for Choosing the Market on Melrose” at every opportunity./liliEnsures the Meat department runs in compliance with all federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and company policies./liliAdhere to safety guidelines that protect company assets./liliAdhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in freezers and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are up to standards./liliParticipates in required trainings./liliAccomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested./li/ol pstrongMinimum Qualifications:/strong/p ulliExcellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills/liliSolid understanding of store operations required/liliAbility and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job./liliLeadership experience with direct reports./liliAbility to use technical information to solve problems/liliMust be at least 18 years old./liliMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations/liliMust have open availability and able to work all hours of operation./li/ul pstrong /strongstrongRequired Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience:/strong/p ulliHigh school diploma or GED certificate required./liliAny meat experience./li/ul pstrongSpecial Requirements:/strong/p ulliA cell phone is required for employment, as access to applications and/or resources may be limited unless a cell phone is used for authentication./liliA valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance is required to drive a personal car on company business./li/ul pstrongPhysical Requirements:/strong/p ulliAbility to use handheld computers for orders, mark downs, scan outs, and inventory/liliStand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances/liliAbility to push or pull up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack or float/liliPerform repetitive hand and arm motions/liliBend and lift products weighing up to 15lbs, continuously, 25lbs. frequently, and approximately 100lbs. on occasion./liliHave sufficient visual ability to check invoices, dates, and other written documents/liliBe able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, and household cleaners./liliFrequent reaching and grasping at waist level: occasionally above shoulder or below waist level/liliMeet established volume activity standards for the position/liliTolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time/li/ul pstrongKey Performance Indicators:/strong/p pstrongThese indicators will be reviewed annually as business performance is documented. /strong/p ulliCustomer loyalty, product quality, product pricing, and operational efficiency while creating a solid foundation of trust, competence, and reputation measured through sales success./liliCultivate a culture of leadership and stewardship, where everyone can and will contribute to the store's success.
