The primary role of the Assistant Manager is to successfully oversee operations of a C-Store in the absence of a manager. This individual is also responsible for required daily, weekly and monthly paperwork including inventory and bank deposits, etc. when the Store Manager is not working. The Assistant Manager will assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day activities within the store and the development and training of store sales associates, while ensuring that company standards are met at all times. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the training and coaching of all employees to follow all state and federal regulation compliance, including alcohol and tobacco sales./ppbr //ppstrongSupervisory Responsibilities:/strong/pulliAssists management with the hiring and training of new and existing staff./liliAs requested by the Manager, conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive./liliAssists the Manager with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy./li/ulpstrongDuties/Responsibilities:/strong/pulliProvides exceptional customer service./liliEstablishes all sales are recorded accurately: includes gas, lottery and convenience store items./liliAssists with making bank deposits as requested by Store Manager./liliCollaborates with management team and communicates any concerns with merchandise pricing to the Price Book Administrator./liliAssesses environmental procedures, ensuring compliance, training staff on spill response, safety and security issues, and the reporting procedures for both staff and customer incident or accidents following company reporting protocol./liliManages inventory, approving or facilitating purchases as needed; verifies costs and receipts, orders supplies as necessary./liliExhibits exceptional customer service with each guest interaction./liliMonitors staff performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency./liliOversees daily duties of staff to ensure projects are completed and customer needs are met./liliTrains staff on federal and state approved certification programs for the sale of age restricted products./liliMaintains property, may include emptying trash cans, wiping down gas pumps, salting./li/ulpstrongRequired Skills/Abilities:/strong/pulliExcellent verbal and written communication skills./liliScheduling flexibility for all shifts with ability to perform all duties of a store associate regularly, including covering shifts when necessary for call ins, overnights, and weekends./liliBasic understanding of budgeting principles, including managing expenses, tracking sales performance, and maximizing profitability./liliAbility to work both independently and collaboratively./liliExcellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks./liliProficient with POS or related retail sales software./liliExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail./liliAbility to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals./li/ulpstrongEducation and Experience:/strong/pulliAssociate Degree in business management or related field preferred./liliOne year in a supervisory role required./liliTwo years of related experience in the retail / customer service industry required./li/ulpstrongPhysical Requirements:/strong/pulliBe able to enter and work in a cooler of 30 degrees up to 30 minutes at a time./liliMust be able to lift merchandise up to 40lbs./li/ulpstrongIf you know someone who would be a great fit with Tenneybrook, we have a great referral bonus program!/strong/ppTenneyBrook is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce, creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all employees.
