In short, our deep marine expertise ensures your equipment runs well long after you’ve left the dock./ppbr//ppstrongJob Summary:/strong The emstrongHVAC Service Technician/Installer/strong/em will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and marine water maker units. This position will also be responsible for the installation of new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines./ppbr//ppThis is an on-site position reporting out of our West Palm Beach, Florida office./ppbr//ppstrongJob Responsibilities:/strong/pulliPerform troubleshooting, diagnosis, service, and repair of marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems/liliTroubleshoot and repair electrical circuits for faults and open circuits/liliPerform routine soldering/brazing of copper joints and dissimilar metals/liliTest pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution/liliJoin pipes or tubing to equipment and/or water or refrigerant source, to form a complete circuit/liliReassemble and test equipment following repairs/liliRepair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring/liliLayout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician’s hand tools/liliComply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area/liliInspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions/liliPerform other related duties as required/li/ulpbr//ppRequirements/ppstrongRequired Experience:/strong/pulli2+ years’ experience in residential or commercial HVAC servicing and installation; marine HVAC and water maker reverse osmosis experience preferred/li/ulpstrongRequired Knowledge Skills and Abilities:/strong/pulliEPA certification or the ability to obtain one – timeframe based on specific job duties/liliPossess a valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record/liliUnderstanding of basic hand tool usage, including meters, gauges, drills, and saws etc./liliAvailability for overtime and/or weekend work/liliMust be comfortable traveling throughout Palm Beach County, FL/liliAbility to solve problems and troubleshoot/liliCapacity to work in a team environment and independently/liliGood oral and written communication skills/liliStrong attention to detail/liliMust be able to lift and bend frequently; must be able to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistant; capable of working in indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to hot and humid environments; comfortable in confided spaces aboard marine vessels at times/li/ulpstrongRequired Education:/strong/pulliMinimum High school diploma, HVAC accredited schooling completion required./li/ulpstrongPhysical Demands and Work Environment:/strong/ppbr//ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
