We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers and the software that brings it all together. The Machine Maintenance Technician will be involved in solving equipment and tooling problems in order to improve SpaceX asset availability. SpaceX doesn’t shut down production for maintenance, and instead we find ways to predict failures and perform the maintenance without interrupting production. This role will require you to work directly with the engineers and other technicians who design and build unique machines to solve critical problems./p pstrongRESPONSIBILITIES:nbsp;/strong/p ul liMaintain and repair all assets to ensure their proper operating condition/li liTroubleshoot, repair control devices such as PLCs, HMIs, CNC controls/li liTroubleshoot, repair and overhaul of mechanical systems like, pumps, chillers, gearboxes, etc/li liReplace and install electrical components such as switches, relays, contactors, transformers, rectifiers, circuit breakers, fuses, and sensors for temperature/pressure/position/li liReplace and install mechanical components such as bearings, bushings, motors, shafts, collars, couplings, pullets, belts, gears, chains, rollers, pumps, valves, hoses, and o-rings on a variety of system equipment/li liPerform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments/li liProvide maintenance on various equipment: vacuum chambers, thermal chambers, CNC machines, production automation and controls equipment, tooling fixtures, and other industrial machinery/li liDrive forklifts and company vehicles/li liPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment/li /ul pstrongBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:/strong/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate/li li3+ years of maintenance technician experience/li li3+ years of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and/or electrical repair/li /ul pstrongPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:/strong/p ul li3+ years of experience with electrical system troubleshooting/li liAbility to conduct research and use on all available resources in house for complex troubleshooting consistently./li liAbility to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and drawings/li liAbility to describe and navigate through a machine’s functions, root cause recurrent issues, and identify the cross-referenced parts needed for repairs/li liAuthored baseline procedures and assisted in training new technicians in procedure execution/li liMillwright skills and abilities and industrial multi-craft and mechanical trades, able to read tooling drawings and setup a lathe, mill, surface grinding operations safely, basic understanding of tooling modification and repairs/li liAbility to repair any mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems safely from start to finish and train others on best repair and troubleshooting practices./li li7+ years of maintenance technician experience/li liExperience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields/li liExperience with hand/power tools, forklifts, and other heavy equipment/li liPLC programming and robotics troubleshooting experience/li /ul pstrongADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:/strong/p ul liMust be available to work the following shifts: ul li1st shift Monday - Friday (5:00 AM - 3:30PM)/li li2nd shift Monday - Friday (3:30 PM to 2 AM)/li /ul /li liMust be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed/li liValid Washington state driver’s license/li liAbility to stand up for up to 8 hours during the day/li liAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted/li liAbility to work directly with the hardware on the floor while being comfortable stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing and standing (including on lifts and ladders)/li /ul pstrongCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:/strong/p pPay range:nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;/p pMaintenance Technician/Level 4: $40.00 - $50.00/hour nbsp; nbsp;brMaintenance Technician/Level 5: $45.00 - $59.00/hour nbsp; nbsp;/p pYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience./p pBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
