The Substitute ESOL Instructor uses lesson plans created by the classroom Instructor and is not required to prepare material. Review and adopt new materials as needed./li liCoordinate instruction with other components/programs within workforce development to ensure that clients have maximum opportunities to improve their communication and job readiness skills, gain employment, and advance towards their career goals./li liRefer student and classroom issues/needs to the Education Manager or Education Program Coordinator./li liPerform all other duties assigned by supervisor./li /ul pstrongRequired Skills/Abilities/strong/p ul liAbility to model accurate American English pronunciation and grammar required./li liOutstanding communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation skills./li liExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required./li liInterest in international, refugee, and asylee issues/li liExtremely well organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously./li liBilingual/bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply./li liMust be able to demonstrate alphabetic writing skills with a marker, pen, or other hand-held writing implement./li liMust be able speak and hear verbal English used in the class instruction and student communication./li /ul pstrongEducation Experience/strong/p ul liBachelor�s Degree in related field required./li liMaster�s Degree in teaching, education, or a relevant field preferred/li liTESOL/TEOFL Certification preferred./li liAt least one year of adult ESOL teaching experience preferably with immigrant populations; experience with non-literate learners./li /ul pstrongWork Environment/Conditions/strong/p ul liOccasional evening hours./li liExposure to bright, overhead office lighting, use of office technology such as laptops, printers, mail machines, and other in-office equipment./li liWhile working remotely, this position requires reliable internet connection and space free from interruptions./li /ul pstrongPhysical Demands/strong/p ul liOccasional lifting, pushing, and pulling materials (boxes, equipment) of 50 pounds or more./li liContinuous sitting or standing at a desk for long periods of time./li liOccasional driving to and from IINE offices as needed./li liFrequent bending, reaching overhead, and reaching at or below shoulder level required./li /ul pstrongCovid-19 Policy/strong/p pIINE does not require applicants for most positions to show proof of Covid-19.
