pspan style="font-weight: bold"The Youth Counselor – Part time/span is a part time entry-level position that provides general carebrof at-risk youth and manages the treatment milieu and routine within a home.br/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Supervisory Responsibilities:/spanbr• None.br/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Duties/Responsibilities:/spanbr• Assist Full-time staff in their duties, to include:bro Maintain the daily routine and structure of the home.bro Work within a treatment team, both within the staff and in the community, in a cooperative andbrmutually supportive way.br• Forming therapeutic relationships with the youth in care.br• Provide a safe, consistent and structured living environment for the youth in care.bro Supervision and structure to keep the youth in care safe.bro Supervise, manage and instruct positive interaction and conflict resolution among the residentsbrin the home.bro Assist with management of a stable yet dynamic set of house rules and values.bro Prepares and shares nutritious family style meals with youth.bro Provide for transportation or residents.bro Oversee and teach chores and general house cleaning/maintenance.bro Provide guidance.bro Help with life planning.bro Teach life skills.bro Teach and model communication skills.bro Assist with relationship building skills.bro Teach and model recreation skills and implement the recreational program of the home.br• Work with youth in care to meet their unique and individual needs.bro Provide individualized care.bro Do informal counseling sessions.bro Participate in group therapy sessions.bro Advocate for needs of each youth.br• Monitor individual behavior of youth in care.bro Provide instruction, praise and reward for positive behavior.bro Do intervention with or confrontation of negative or destructive behavior.bro Give consequences when appropriate.bro Teach and model appropriate behaviors.bro Record behavioral data.br• Engage in therapeutic relationships with the youth.bro Set appropriate levels of intimacy, shared two-way information and boundaries.bro Work with youth’s families as partners to YH care and treatment.br• Maintain program structure and assist with program accountability.bro Make entries in administrative and behavioral logs.bro Document all incidents.bro Stay abreast of all information in logs.bro Write reports as necessary and required or requested.bro Attend and participate in a wide variety of “treatment team” meetings.bro Attend and assist with corporate functions and meetings, as requested.br• Operate program as designed and directed.br• Accept supervision.br• Work within a team approach to treatment.br• Give others respect, regardless of opinion, and consideration in dealings with them.br• Be a healthy role model.br/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Required Skills/Abilities:/spanbr• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.br• Excellent interpersonal skills.br• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.br• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.br• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.br/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Education and Experience:/spanbr• High School Diploma or equivalentbr• Valid Driver’s Licensebr• Solid moral characterbr/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Physical Requirements:/spanbr• Ability to lift 50 lbs. as needed.br• Ability to climb stairs as needed.br• Willing and able to work a full time schedule that involves three, four or five-day workweeks that includesbrshifts that may be as long as 15 hours.br/p p /p pspan style="text-decoration: underline"Employee Classification, Compensation and Benefits:/spanbr• This position is a Part-time, Non-exempt position.br• Compensation is based on range establish in the Youth Homes Salary Schedule.br• Employee Assistance Program (EAP)/p
