Licensed Practical Nurse - Driftwood Nursing Center - PRN

pThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering patient care services to residents and will function within the scope of practice according to the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. The LPN assists in evaluating and modifying resident care plans. The LPN collaborates with all clinical staff and providers, communicating patient care information to residents and their families./ph3Responsibilities/h3divul liResponsible for delivering patient care services as part of a health care team ul liAssess resident needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions/li liEvaluates intervention outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members/li liPerforms and documents vital signs, basic resident care, and procedures/li liAdministers prescribed medications and starts intravenous fluids, observing, reporting, and documenting the effectiveness and changes in conditions/li liCollects specimens and performs routine laboratory tests/li liMaintains and sterilizes lab equipment, procedural instruments, and supplies/li liPerforms additional nursing duties as assigned/li /ul/li liCommunicates resident healthcare needs to appropriate health care team or provider ul liAssures daily accurate, concise reporting and documentation of resident condition and needs/li liShares input from the resident and family with the appropriate healthcare team members/li liPromptly answers resident requests and addresses resident's needs/li liReports significant events and situations to healthcare team members/li liProvides clinical supervision to Certified Nursing Assistants/li liFollows safety rules in all areas of resident care and ensures a safe resident environment/li /ul/li /ul/divh3Qualifications/h3divpRequired Qualifications:br/Education: nbsp;Graduate of an accredited LPN program.br/Licensure: nbsp;Current MS LPN license or MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state LPN license.br/Experience: nbsp;None.br/Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: nbsp;Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff and providers. nbsp;Ability to work independently as well as lead a team. Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. Knowledge of uses and operations of equipment and instruments used in patient care. nbsp;Ability to interpret provider or healthcare team’s orders and carry them out as requested.
