We promote from within and offer medical, dental and vision coverage and a 401K match along with generous PTO!/ppstrongTHE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND/strong/ppWersquo;re looking for a fully trained Ophthalmic Technician 2 with two years minimum of refracting experience, that is passionate and empathetic to join our team as Ophthalmic Techs. Our Techs are responsible for all the pre-exam elements of the patient visit. This includes gathering and documenting patient information and history and conducting routine and ancillary patient testing. Yoursquo;ll play a vital role in the patients experience with OCLI and in helping our Drrsquo;s to diagnose and treat eye disorders./ppstrongOUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU/strong/pulliYoursquo;ll test and record patient#39;s far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception/liliYoursquo;ll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing/liliYoursquo;ll triage emergency cases appropriately into physiciansrsquo; schedule and maintain patient flow/liliYoursquo;ll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed/liliYoursquo;ll perform first level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions/liliYou will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times/li/ulpstrongWHAT YOU#39;LL NEED TO SUCCEED/strong/pulliYou have the ability to work with all specialties and perform all ancillary tasks/liliYou have two years minimum of refracting experience/liliYoursquo;re an excellent communicator ndash; both verbally and written/liliYoursquo;re outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everyday/liliYoursquo;re comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needs/liliYoursquo;re a dependable problem solver ndash; yoursquo;re the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations/liliYou have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments/liliYoursquo;re flexible ndash; you roll with the punches and easily accept change/liliYoursquo;re knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement/liliWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit.
