pstrongJob Title:nbsp;Instructional Assistant/strong/p pnbsp;/p pstrongSUMMARY/strong/p pstrongPerforms any combination of following instructional tasks in the school building to assist teaching staff in the elementary or secondary schools by performing the following duties.nbsp; Schedule determined by building principal./strong/p pstrongnbsp;ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strongnbsp;include the following.nbsp; Other duties may be assigned./p pnbsp;/p ul liDiscusses curriculum area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts./li liAssists the teacher in the preparation of instructional materials./li liAssists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts as directed by the classroom teacher./li liAssists students with the use of audio-visual materials, equipment and computers./li liMonitoring student lunches, recess times, fire drills, field trips, bus duty, and hall duty./li liOutside duties: parking lot, fields, driveway, as per administrationrsquo;s need/li liLavatory coverage in the high school./li liAssists in correcting work of the students./li liAssists in the preparation of duplicating materials./li liAssist staff with classroom management (e.g., implementation of positive behavior support plans). Intervene to redirect disruptive inappropriate behavior, direct and keep the student(s) on task./li /ul pnbsp;/p pnbsp;/p pstrongTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/strongnbsp;nbsp;/p p10-month position/p pnbsp;strongEVALUATIONS/strong/p pPerformance will be evaluated annually./p pnbsp;strongQUALIFICATIONS/strongnbsp; To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to achieve each essential duty satisfactorily.nbsp; The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.nbsp; Must be able to pass the state-endorsed local assessment in math and language arts. Ability to write simple correspondence.
