h2About the Department/h2pp style="margin: 0;"span style="color: inherit;"The Fire Instructor performs work on a part-time basis with work schedule varying Monday through Saturday. nbsp;Oversees and performs instructing Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and advanced level courses./span/p/ph2Position Duties/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"liDrives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws./liliServes as mentor to new employees./liliCoordinates activities and evaluates performance./liliPresents both practical and classroom instruction for a variety of fire and emergency medical related training programs./liliPerforms routine maintenance on all equipment and apparatus./liliPrepares and maintains required training documentation./liliAlways maintains a safe working environment./liliMaintains good physical condition for repetitive practical applications in the field./liliPerforms live burn operations for both students and in-service trainings./liliPerformsnbsp;training during both non- immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) and IDLH environments./liliPerforms firefighter job related tasks for demonstration and technique during training sessions./liliMaintains command and control of all students in a variety of training programs./liliComplies with all local, state, and federal laws required for fire training centers./liliReviews and grades written tests, written assignments, and any projects assigned to students./liliMaintains an open line of communication to supervisor for all training operations./liliPerforms and demonstrates tasks in high-risk situations including, but not limited to, vehicle extrication, rope rescue, hose evolutions during zero visibility, and operations during hazardous material incidents./liliPresents and attends regular training for renewal of certifications and career enhancement./liliPerforms other duties as required./li/ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pp style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;" id="isPasted"stronguEducation, Training, and Experience/u/strong/pul style="margin-bottom: 3pt;
