The most complex tools or equipment necessary to perform satisfactorily include: refrigerant recovery systems, electrical system/tune up testing machines; alternator tester; shop press.br /br /strongResponsibilities:nbsp;/strong/p ul liCollects bus and vehicle inspection reports.nbsp;/li liPerforms necessary bus and vehicle repairs as indicated by bus drivers and other transportation personnel./li liDiagnoses problems, test drives equipment before and after repair to ensure proper working order./li liPerforms daily and periodic preventive maintenance, fluid levels, brakes, tire condition, tune ups, lubes, etc. to buses and maintenance vehicles.nbsp;/li liPerforms overhaul to motors, rear ends, transmissions, brakes, clutches, etc./li liPerforms inspections to vehicles. Safety inspects all buses and vehicles./li liPerforms necessary inventory of equipment.nbsp;/li liMaintains necessary records of service to vehicles/buses.nbsp;/li liMaintains a clean service center; maintains tools in a safe and clean manner./li liPicks up/exchanges buses or other vehicles.nbsp;/li liAvailable "on call" as needed in case of bus failure./li liPerforms other duties as assigned./li /ul pstrongQualifications:/strong/p ul liExperience: ul linbsp;Minimum of three years in auto and diesel mechanics setting./li /ul /li liEducation: ul liHigh School Diploma or equivalent vocational experience in or after high school in auto mechanics is required in lieu of high school degree./li /ul /li liCertification Licensing: ul liClass "B" C.D.L. with air brakes passenger and endorsements/li /ul /li liAuthorized to work in the USA/li liCurrent national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire. nbsp;/li liWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements: ul liDuties are performed on a school bus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise levels; fumes or airborne particles; noxious odors; vibrations from driving a bus; and traffic./li liThe employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions./li liWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; use foot controls to drive; reach with hands and arms; climb; bend, stoop, and kneel; and talk and hear./li liThe employee must be physically able to perform and demonstrate emergency evacuation procedures./li liThe employee must be able to communicate orally and hear on a two-way radio with transportation dispatch and emergency services while the bus is in motion./li liEmployee must be able to communicate effectively and positively with parents, students, staff and co-workers./li liThis includesthe pushing/pulling of up to 50 pounds.
