The role requires hands-on work in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader, you'll lead a 2-5 person tree care crew while managing safe and productive performance of all aspects of arboriculture, including:/p pPruning trees/p pRigging/p pCabling and bracing/p pRemoval of hazardous trees/p pProperly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, leaf blowers, chippers, tractor, aerial lifts, etc.)/p pImplementing work zone safety procedures/p pPerforming and reporting job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks (i.e. tailgate safety meetings, job briefings at each job site, etc.)/p pCollaboratively working with Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft/p pTree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines/p pAssisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties/p pMentoring and training employees/p pTraffic and pedestrian control, and other relevant duties as operationally necessary/p pDrive company vehicles and equipment (as needed)/p pAssist aerial workers and tree care crew in all aspects of tree care and removal/p pAble to work with and without direct supervision/p pThis is a senior-level role that reports directly to the General Foreman/p pbr/p pQualifications/p pA passion for nature, the environment, and love of the outdoors!/p pA positive attitude and ability to participate within a multidisciplinary team./p pAbility to work year-round in all weather conditions./p pRequired:span /spanValid class C driver’s license with a clean record/p pPreferred:span /spanMinimum 4 years experience in tree care or forestry/p pPreferred:span /spanISA Certified Arborist ®, ISA Certified Tree Worker ®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional ®/p pPreferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B without air brake restriction/p pPreferred: Minimum 2 years of experience operating skid steers or excavators/p pPreferred: Bilingual/p pPreferred: Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field/p pbr/p pPhysical Demands Of This Role/p pWhile performing the duties of the job, the employee may be subject to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
