Medical Lab Technician | Laboratory Services | Full-Time

h4strong**$5,000 sign-on incentive available**/strong/h4 pThe MLT will be responsible for prompt and accurate performance of laboratory work in the various divisions of the laboratory./p pstrongJob Duties:/strong/p pWorks with the Medical Technologists in the following capacity:/p ul liThe MLT will ordinarily be assigned to regular, routine laboratory work in various divisions of the lab. Specific assignments may be changed as necessitated by varying workloads./li liPerforms assigned work promptly and accurately. Uses appropriate quality control and make sure QC criteria are met before releasing reports./li liKeeps work area clean and neat at all times./li liAssists in training new lab employees, student technicians and aides by demonstration of techniques and supervision of tests./li liEvaluates and documents performance of testing personnel according to CLIA personnel requirements./li liTakes weekend back-up call on rotation basis or as assigned by the director./li liWorks with and understands the LIS functions necessary for smooth day-to-day operation./li liFollows lab procedures for specimen acquisition, handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results./li liAdheres to the lab’s quality control policies and documents all QC activities, instrument and method calibrations and maintenance performed./li liCapable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and must correct the problems or immediately notify the section head, director or Medical Director./li liSuccessfully completes annual competency assessments for each test method performed./li liAssists with performance improvement activities./li liMay be designated as a section head following CLIA requirements./li liPerforms other duties as assigned by a section head, lab director, or Pathologist./li /ul pstrongRequirements:/strong/p ul liMust be registered or eligible as an MLT, CLT (ASCP), or MLT (AMT), and/or HHS certified and qualify as general supervisors as outlined in CLIA regulations, or individuals with equivalent training, preferably with practical experience in general laboratory work.
