The purpose of the position is to independently perform work of a recurring and regular nature in accordance with established and well-known policies, procedures, and practices. Progress of work is checked and instruction is provided on accomplishing work involving unusual problems or the use of unfamiliar equipment./p/ph2Position Duties/h2ppIndependent judgment is required to identify, select and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures as well as interpret precedents. This position is responsible for providing set up, tear down, and cleaning of the Georgia International Convention Center on an assigned shift./pul style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liProvides set up, tear down, and cleaning services for the GICC; sets up of chairs, risers, stages, and other equipment.liResponds to emergency requests for service.liOperates equipment used in set up, tear down, and clean up work including forklifts, power sweepers, electric carts, City trucks and cars, and a variety of hand and power tools.liEnsures that all requested items on BEO are in the proper place promptly.liResponds to client requests as necessary.liInspects the building daily for any building maintenance needs; corrects problems as necessary.liPerforms other related duties as assigned.liThe omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position./ul/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pul style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liKnowledge of procedures, methods, and techniques of event setups and tear downs; tools, equipment, and supplies used in providing comprehensive setup, tear down, and cleaning services.liKnowledge of safe work practices.liKnowledge of, or ability to learn, standard cleaning methods and equipment used in custodial work such as brooms, mops, dust mops, vacuums, scouring devices, and wax applicators.liAbility to work shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays and be on call on an as-needed basis.liAbility to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.liAbility to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.liAbility to work independently in maintaining a clean and orderly area after a sufficient training period.liAbility to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, manipulating, and heavy lifting of equipment.liAbility to work flexible hours to include weekdays and weekends based on programming needs.liAbility to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.liMust be able to use tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.liMust be able to analyze and evaluate procedures and work processes and to exercise appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and work methods.liMust be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to deal effectively and courteously with others, to work independently and in team settings.liMust be able to type or to use a personal computer with word processing and related software and to enter and retrieve information with reasonable speed and accuracy.nbsp;liModerate physical activity.
