The driver is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for students traveling to and living within the Town of Ridgefield traveling to schools outside of town lines. Drivers will pick up and drop off students at stops along established routes each day within the school calendar schedule as well as summer programs. The driver may also transport students to a work study program within town. Drivers must be attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of the passengers. The driver must ensure that the vehicle is operating properly by conducting a vehicle inspection each day.
