li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Assists in the planning and preparation of instructional materials and lessons that meet the needs of students with various disabilities. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Supports student learning and reinforces instruction provided by certified teachers./span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Works in conjunction with school health specialists, speech therapist, and physical therapist to administer lessons, activities, and therapy exercises. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Monitors and records student behavior and progress. Assists with translating in IEP meetings and parent phones calls as needed. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Escorts students to special classes. Guides student through obstacle courses. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Physically assists student with eating, restroom use, hygiene, and getting on and off school busses as required. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Cleans and disinfects toys, tables, and classroom. Assists in picking up and organizing toys and classroom materials at the end of lessons. /span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Assists substitute teacher to ensure continuity of learning process./span/li
li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Completes other duties as assigned or required. /span/li

pstrongEducation and Experience:/strong/p

li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"High school diploma or equivalent; /spanstrongAND/strongspan style="font-weight: 400;" Associate Degree /spanstrongOR/strongspan style="font-weight: 400;" minimum of sixty (60) credits post-secondary education /spanstrongOR/strongspan style="font-weight: 400;" passing score on a paraprofessional test; /spanstrongAND/strongspan style="font-weight: 400;" two (2) years of experience working with students with disabilities; /spanstrongOR /strongspan style="font-weight: 400;"an/span span style="font-weight: 400;"equivalent combination of education, training, and experience./span/li

li style="font-weight: 400;"span style="font-weight: 400;"Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment./span/li
