There is one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8), and three elementary buildings. Lincoln School is PreK, kindergarten and first grade. Garfield School is for grades two and three and Guthridge School is home to grades four and five.nbsp;/p pnbsp;/p pnbsp;/p h1PRIMARY PURPOSE/h1 pRide buses and help driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students./p h1QUALIFICATIONS/h1 pEducation/Certification(s)/License(s):/p pHigh school diploma or GED/p pnbsp;/p pSpecial Knowledge/Skills:/p ul liAbility to understand and follow written or verbal instructions/li liAbility to communicate effectively with others/li liAbility to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment/li liAbility to manage student behavior/li liAbility to work well with all children, including children with disabilities/li /ul pnbsp;/p pExperience:/p pNone/p h1ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/h1 pstrongDuties and Responsibilities/strong/p ol liAssist students on and off the bus according to their individual needs including lifting and carrying students with disabilities./li liSupervise students as they board and exit the bus and cross the street following established safety procedures./li liEscort students into the building and deliver to their assigned destination./li liInstruct students on safe entering, exiting, and riding rules and regulations./li liLearn and adapt to each studentrsquo;s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs./li liManage student behavior and report student discipline problems in a timely manner to appropriate administrator./li liComplete and maintain accurate, updated, and timely records and reports including route sheet and daily non-notification forms./li liOperate equipment according to established safety procedures. Make sure seat belts, harnesses, or car seats are used correctly and help students use safety devises when needed./li liFollow emergency procedures including evacuation of students as needed and assist driver to administer first aid, if necessary./li liFollow established procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and assisting students./li liFollow district safety protocols and emergency procedures./li liBecome familiar with and follow procedures established by transportation and special education offices./li liAssist driver keeping bus clean and performance of pre- and post-trip inspections./li liComply with all district policies, rules, and regulations./li liOther duties as assigned./li /ol pnbsp;/p pUSD503 does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, or handicap in the employment or hiring practices, procedures, training, assignment, promotion, transfernbsp; or discipline of personnel.
