Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County.nbsp;nbsp;Sun River Healthnbsp;is currently seeking a part-time Dentist to join our team at our Peekskill, NY site./p pA Dentist provides dental care patients of agency by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and guns; and all other duties as assigned. S/he performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specifics standards./p pEssential Responsibilities and Job Duties:/p ul liOversees dental team at site, Damp;S oversight at site, weekly order oversight, direct staff on identify ingand reporting equipment that needs repair, attend site staff and leadership meetings, attend departmental meetings, communicate and coordinate with HCD, DDO, CDO issues at site related to dental operations./li liPerforms root canal therapy on anterior teeth and other teeth where root canal anatomy is within the skill set of the dentist./li liReviews findings from full mouth periodontal exam on adults (25+) to diagnose perio disease and design of a perio tx plan./li liTakes impressions and models of jaws and teeth in preparation for dentures and crowns./li liConsults with heads of other patient care services in planning most appropriate dental treatment to be used, for coordinating patient problems (behavioral, medical; etc.)./li liExtracts infected, or otherwise diseased/hopeless teeth./li liProvides preventive dentistry counseling, anticipatory guidance, evaluation of nutritional status and oral hygiene habits of patients with or without the aid of a dental hygienist./li liLocates and repairs cavities in teeth following discussion of findings with dental radiographs to formulate a treatment plan./li liCompletes examination of the patient’s teeth, gums, and surrounding structures using a mouth mirror, dental explorer, periodontal probe, dental instruments, and other diagnostic aids such as dental radiographic images from dental x-rays, to enter clinical findings from intraoral/extraoral head and neck evaluation including oral cancer screening; tobacco use screening; dental caries detection, periodontal disease exam, oral pathology, etc. with help of a dental assistant, in OpenDental and in the patient's eCW medical record to formulate and carry out the most feasible plan of treatment.nbsp;/li /ul pMinimum Education Requirement:/p pBachelor’s Degree/p pPreferred Education Requirement:/p pMaster’s Degree/p pMinimum Licensure/Certification/ Registration Requirement:/p ul liD.D.S or D.M.D. from an approved dental school/li liMust have a New York State License/li liCPR/ BLS Certification/li /ul pPreferred Licensure/Certification/Registration:/p pSpecialty board certification/p pSpecialized Skills amp; Knowledge:/p pAbility to communicate in English (orally and written)/p pSalary Range: $87.31 - $95.49/hour/p pOur Culture/p pAt Sun River Health, we believe in fostering a culture of wellness, inclusivity and recognition.
