pMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:br /1. Must be at least 18 years of agebr /2. Must have no criminal record or criminal charges pendingbr /3. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurancebr /4. Must be able to speak, read, and write Englishbr /5. Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certificationbr /6. Must have a clear TB and physical examination before the first day of employmentbr /7. Must have a high school diploma or GEDbr /8. Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or be enrolled or willing to enroll in a CDAbr /credential program to be completed within 2 yearsbr /9. Must have 6 months of experience working in childcarebr /10. Must be skilled in data entrybr /11. Must have computer skills ndash; Microsoft Windows environment and Office suite/p pbr /B. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:br /1. Have a certificate of proficiency in child care developmentbr /2. Be enrolled in a program leading to an Associate or Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Educationbr /3. Be Bilingual ndash; able or willing to learn to speak, read, and write English and Spanishbr /4. Be a resident of Cameron or Willacy Countybr /5. Be a person sensitive to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged/p pbr /C. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:br /1. Assists the Teacher with all regular Head Start classroom-related activities, and will serve temporarily asbr /Teacher when requiredbr /2. Assist the Teacher with home visitsbr /3. Performs related duties within the scope of Head Start as assigned by the Head Teacherbr /4. Assists the Teacher in maintaining an 85% average daily attendancebr /5. Assists the Teacher in maintaining the assigned enrollment quotabr /6. Assists the Teacher in generating the assigned non-federal share (In-Kind)br /7. When necessary, will be expected to attend staff training through pre-service and in-service workshopsbr /8. Supports the efforts of Head Start families in the enhancement of their children's healthy well-being andbr /academic successbr /9. Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor relative to program operationsbr /10. Works on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings on special assigned projects and/or tasks on requestbr /of the Executive/Head Start Director/p pbr /D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:br /1. Averages three hours of sitting, three hours of standing, and two hours of walking in a usual workdaybr /2. Requires the employee to occasionally crawl and twist in performing dutiesbr /3. Needs to carry up to 50 pounds, occasionallybr /4. Uses lower extremities frequently in simple/firm movement and balancingbr /5. Maintains head/neck continuously in flexing movements and occasionally in static position amp;br /rotational/extension movementsbr /6. Needs appropriate or corrected vision, requires the ability to judge distance and space relationships,br /uses peripheral vision while eyes are fixed, uses eye adjustment in doing near point work, and requiresbr /the ability to identify and distinguish colorsbr /7. Does frequent speaking/hearing tasks with staff, co-workers, parents, and supervisorsbr /8. Performs work area surveys to prevent injuries or accidentsbr /9.
