pstrongPOSITION TITLE:  Grocery Stock Clerk/strong/p pstrongDEPARTMENT:      Grocery/strong/p pstrongREPORTS TO:         Grocery Manager / Store Director/strong/p pstrongFLSA STATUS:        Non-Exempt/strong/p pstrong /strong/p p /p pstrongJOB SUMMARY:/strong/p p /p pTo maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise in the grocery department./p p /p pstrongESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:/strong/p p /p p1)         Assist in unloading the merchandise./p p2)         Transport stock for storage to stock areas./p p3)         Open cartons and price items (if needed) accurately./p p4)         Keep store shelves fully stocked according to tag allocations./p p5)         Assist in building store displays./p p6)         Keep perishable merchandise rotated and pull out-of-code product as needed./p p7)         Control level of damaged goods./p p8)         Properly present assigned section prior to leaving at the end of scheduled work shift./p p9)         Observe policies and procedures established for each department./p p10)       Greet customers who come into the store and be observant./p p11)       Maintain a neat appearance according to the company’s dress code policy./p p12)       Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook./p p /p pstrongSUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:/strong/p p /p p1)         Maintenance of price and protection program./p p2)         Housekeeping of sales and back room areas./p p3)         Assist with front-end service when needed./p p /p pstrongMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:/strong/p p /p p1)         Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product./p p2)         Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas./p p3)         Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time./p p4)         Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage.  The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift./p p5)         Ability to follow written and verbal instructions./p p /p
