pThe Banquet Supervisor shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost./pp/pp/ppbuPRIMARY PURPOSE/u/b/pp/ppThe Banquet Supervisor is responsible for implementation of all banquet functions at The Glen Eyrie Conference Center, ensuring that service standards and departmental policies are followed by banquet staff. The position is primarily concerned with front of house activities./pp/pp/ppbuESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS/u/b/pp/ppbspanServing Responsibilities/span/b/pullipspanMaintain positive and professional attitude/span/p/lilipspanGather menu information for each function served, in order to appropriately provide signage and explanation to guests/span/p/lilipspanBe aware of the details on the Banquet Event order, including special diets/span/p/lilipspanSet up for events by placing tablecloths, place settings, and other table items along with setting up buffet when requested/span/p/lilipspanCarrying plates of food on trays and serving guests/span/p/lilipspanComplete the inspection of meeting rooms prior to guest arrival ensuring that client specifications have been met/span/p/lilipspanResolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to upper management/span/p/lilipspanNotifies supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, or missing items /span/p/lilipspanMaintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, /spanspanremoving courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses/span/p/lilipspanMaintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Conference Center/span/p/lilipspanCommunicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Supervisor/span/p/lilipspanClean up venue after event ends and assist with closeout tasks/span/p/li/ulp/pp/ppbspanAdditional Responsibilities/span/b/pullipspanPerforms basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor/span/p/lilipspanGreet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting/span/p/lilipspanAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently/span/p/lilipspanProvide quick service for last minute changes/span/p/lilipspanMay take “lead” position for a specific function/span/p/lilipspanMay be responsible for obtaining the BEO for functions/span/p/lilipspanMay assist with quarterly inventory/span/p/lilipspanMay assist with training of new staff/span/p/lilipspanParticipate in development events such as Navigator on-site events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate./span/p/lilipspanRead spiritually and culturally developmental books and literature./span/p/lilipspanParticipate in the annual, organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR) process./span/p/lilipspanSubmit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system./span/p/lilipspanPerforms other job-related duties as assigned by Banquet Supervisor and Food amp; Beverage Director/span/p/li/ulp/pp/ppubQUALIFICATIONS/b/u/pullipspanBelief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators./span/p/lilipspanHigh School diploma or equivalent required/span/p/lilipspanPrevious waitstaff experience/span/p/lilipspanKnowledge of catering practices preferred/span/p/lilipspanExcellent customer service skills/span/p/lilipspanExcellent oral communication and listening skills/span/p/lilipspanAbility to follow directions/span/p/lilipspanAbility to work independently as well as a team in a fast-paced environment/span/p/lilipspanReliable transportation required/span/p/li/ulp/pp/ppspanSalary for this position is $13.65 - $15.32/hr./span/pp/pp/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"iThe Navigators is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
