Contributes to the efficient operation of the department./ppstrongJob Results amp; Essential Function/strong/pulliPerforms all CT exams as requested by referring clinicians. Is responsible for all post-processing as required by the exam protocol or the Radiologists./liliRecords all pertinent clinical history./liliConsults with the Radiologists if there are any technical questions about procedural protocols./liliReviews each exam for technical accuracy, presents completed exams to the Radiologist, and communicates any pertinent information to persons responsible for the patient’s care./liliMaintains the daily patient log./liliBurns CD’s as requested—ensuring that only the requested CT is on the CD./liliPerforms the daily QA testing/liliTakes “on-call” as required./liliMaintains inventory and notifies supervisor when stock is low./liliEvening Technologists assist the evening X-Ray Technologist in performing radiographic exams and assisting in any way as needed./liliKeeps the CT area cleaned and stocked at all times./liliParticipates in the orientation and training of any new employees and/or students./liliMaintains current active status with the ARRT and New York State and is responsible for maintaining the required CEUs. strong(This can be verified at www.arrt.org)/strong./liliResponsible for understanding and adherence to the Code of conduct and the Corporate Compliance Plan at St. James Mercy Hospital./liliParticipates in all educational requirements related to Corporate Compliance as required by the CCP educational plan./liliAble to use PACS and Meditech to look up and enter correct patient data./liliUnderstands the importance of patient dose based on age and size of the patient./liliAble to identify contraindications (lab values, disease history, or allergies) for providing IV contrast even if it is ordered by a physician./li/ulpbr//ppbr//ppemThis job description is a summary of the job duties and requirements that represent the general nature and level of work being performed. Must be able to transverse, remain in a stationary position, operate equipment, ascend and descend stairs, position patients, use many kinds of equipment in the department and throughout the hospital. Must be able to take “call”./ppstrongLanguage Ability/strong/ppAbility to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
