Building on its 125+year legacy of innovation and effective programming, Henry Street offers more than 50 programs and is one of New York City’s largest social service agencies.   /span/p pstrongspanQualifications:/span/strong/p ul liHigh School Diploma and enrollment in college in a related field (Education/Human Development/Sociology/etc.) required/li liMinimum of two (2) years’ experience working in after-school or camp settings/li liStrong content knowledge of positive youth development principles/li liThorough knowledge of appropriate skill development strategies for students grades K-8/li liInterest in providing quality hands-on, inquiry-based projects, enrichment, and recreation experiences to youth in grades K—8/li liExperience working with youth from diverse backgrounds/li liAbility to work with students from a variety of academic backgrounds and skill levels/li liStrong organizational, multitask, and follow through skills/li liSelf-motivated ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure/li liExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills/li liFlexible and positive team-oriented attitude/li liBilingual preferred (Cantonese/English or Mandarin/English)/li liMust be able to be on site by 2:45pm, Monday to Friday/li liMust be able to attend some daytime meetings and trainings/li liMust be able to work on select holidays from 8 am – 6 pm/li /ul pstrongspanResponsibilities:/span/strong/p ul liOn selected days, work with the Department of Education teacher(s) in the classroom using a co-teaching model and on the remaining days lead the class in enrichment, recreation, and Social Emotional Learning activities/li liPlan and execute appropriate hands-on inquiry-based projects, enrichment, and recreation experiences/li liProvide group and individual instruction utilizing approved lesson plans and curriculum/li liFind/create opportunities for students to expand and build upon their interests/li liDistribute materials and information relevant to the activity/li liMaintain records of all participants and activities including attendance sheets and progress within the activity/li liReview and assess individual students via surveys and observations/li liPrepare students for sharing’s, culminating events, and exhibits/li liAttend mandatory trainings in compliance with NYC DOH regulations/li liProvide Henry Street Settlement with all required paperwork, certifications, and support documents in compliance with NYC DOH regulations/li liOther duties as assigned by supervisor/li /ul pstrongspanEssential Physical Job Functions:/span/strong/p ul liAbility to stand, stoop, and bend for prolonged periods of time/li /ul
